Host Agreement
- You run an AIS receiver that sends what it hears to Gangway AIS. We may keep, use, combine, publish and sell that data, for good, including after you stop.
- No payment either way. While your station keeps sending, your account gets a free Watch plan.
- Your equipment stays yours. A kit we sent stays ours.
- Either of us may end this at any time. We may refuse or remove a station.
1. Who this is between
This agreement is between Motto Marine International ("we", "us"), the company that runs Gangway AIS and you: the person or company who hosts a receiver for Gangway AIS. You accept it with a tick when you sign up as a host. We record the version you accepted and the date. Our Terms of Service apply to your account as well.
2. Your station
- Your station is an AIS receiver with its aerial that sends the messages it hears to us.
- You confirm that you may install the aerial and the receiver where you do: on your own property or with the owner's permission, within the rules that apply there.
- You install and run the station yourself, at your own risk.
3. The data your station sends
You grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to receive, store, use, combine with other data, publish and sell the data your station sends. This right continues after you stop hosting, for all the data your station sent until then.
You confirm that your station sends only what it receives by radio, unchanged. Do not send data from another source.
4. What you get
- No cash and no gifts. While your station keeps sending, your account gets a free Watch plan, as set out on the host page: Watch Plus for a station online at least 90 % of the hours of a calendar month; Watch Pro for a station in a thin area, or at a priority place with a kit we sent.
- The free plan starts once our check has passed and your station has sent for its first 7 days, online at least 90 % of the hours.
- Below 90 % in a month, we write to you and the plan carries on. After a second month in a row below 90 %, the free plan stops and your account returns to the plan you pay for. Vessels and ports above that plan's limit are paused, not deleted.
- Every day we compare your station's reports with what other sources heard in its area. A station that does not match gets no free plan until we have looked at it. A free plan already running carries on while we look. It goes on hold after three failed days in a row, or if we put it on hold.
- Every host gets a station page and a monthly email with the number of vessels the station heard. Your name or company shows on our coverage page only if you switch it on. We never show where your station is.
- We may change what hosts get. We tell you before a change applies to you.
5. Equipment and kits
- Equipment you bought stays yours.
- A receiver kit we sent you stays ours. When you stop hosting, you return it or keep it, as we decide then.
6. Ending
- You may stop at any time: switch the station off or write to hello@gangway.app.
- We may end this at any time. We may also refuse a station or remove it from the programme.
- When it ends, the free plan ends and section 3 continues for the data already sent. Your account stays.
7. Personal data
We keep your name, email and the rough place you gave for the station, as our Privacy Notice describes. The place is for us only: we never show it.
8. Liability
We are not responsible for your equipment, your installation or damage to property, except where the law does not allow us to exclude it.
9. Law
This agreement is governed by French law, as our Terms of Service are.
